Midknight Studio Labs (“Midknight Studio Labs,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) creates games, downloadable books, and related content. This Privacy Policy explains how information may be handled when you visit midknightstudiolabs.com, download our materials, contact us, or use one of our games or apps (together, the “Services”).
Information we may collect
We do not require a Midknight Studio Labs account unless an app clearly says otherwise. Depending on which Services you use and which features are enabled, we may receive:
- Information you provide: your name, email address, message, support request, survey response, or other information you choose to send us.
- App and device information: app version, device type, operating system, language, approximate region, advertising or app-instance identifiers, gameplay events, diagnostic information, and crash logs — but only where a specific game integrates a service that provides them (see “Services we use” below).
- Website information: browser type, pages viewed, referring page, approximate location derived from an IP address, cookies, and similar technical information collected through Blogger and Google Analytics when you visit our websites.
- Purchase information: transaction status and product identifiers. Payments are processed by the relevant app store; we do not receive your complete payment-card details.
How we use information
We may use information to operate and improve the Services, save game progress where supported, understand performance, diagnose crashes, prevent fraud or abuse, respond to support requests, provide purchased content, comply with law, and protect our users and rights.
Services we use
As of the effective date above, our Services rely on the following third parties, each of which processes information under its own privacy policy:
- Blogger (Google LLC) — hosts our websites (midknightstudiolabs.com and catmintcove.com) and may set cookies and provide us aggregate visitor statistics.
- Google Analytics (Google LLC) — measures website traffic and usage. It uses cookies and processes a truncated IP address and a random client identifier. It runs on our websites only, not inside our games. You can opt out with the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on or by blocking cookies.
- GitHub Pages (GitHub, Inc.) — hosts the browser version of Catmint Cove and keeps standard server request logs.
- Google Play and the Apple App Store — distribute our apps and process in-app purchases.
We do not currently use any analytics service, crash-reporting service, or advertising network inside our games. If that changes, we will update this list and the affected store listing before the change takes effect.
Catmint Cove
The current release of Catmint Cove does not collect personal information. It has no account, no analytics, no crash reporting, and no advertising. Your game progress is stored only on your own device and is never sent to us. An in-game “Cozy Supporter Pack,” if offered for purchase, is handled entirely by your app store. If a future update adds analytics, advertising, or cloud saves, this policy and the store listing will be updated first, and any choices required by law will be provided.
Advertising and in-app purchases
If a game contains advertising or in-app purchases, its store listing and the game itself will identify those features. Advertising providers, where used, may process device or advertising identifiers to measure, limit, or personalize ads, subject to your device settings, applicable consent requirements, and law.
Children’s privacy
Our Services are not directed to children under 13, or the minimum age of digital consent where the user lives, unless a specific Service is expressly designed for children and provides its own separate notice. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children without any consent required by law. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can investigate and delete it where required.
Sharing and disclosure
We may share information with service providers that help operate the Services; with app stores and platforms; when required by law or a valid legal request; to protect safety, rights, and security; or as part of a merger, financing, acquisition, or sale of assets. We do not sell personal information for money. Certain advertising or analytics activity may be treated as “sharing,” “selling,” or targeted advertising under some laws; where applicable, we will provide the required choices.
Data retention and security
We retain information only as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described above, including support, security, legal, and accounting needs. We use reasonable safeguards, but no method of storage or transmission is completely secure.
Your choices and rights
You may be able to limit cookies through your browser, reset or limit an advertising identifier through device settings, control app permissions, clear an app’s local data, or uninstall an app. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, portability, restriction, or objection, or to withdraw consent. Contact us to make a request; we may need to verify your identity.
International processing
Your information may be processed in countries other than your own. Where required, we and our providers use appropriate safeguards for international transfers.
Downloads and external links
Our storybooks, coloring books, and other downloads may be hosted by a third party. Clicking a download or external link may allow that provider to receive standard technical information under its own policy.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as our Services change. We will post the revised version here and update the effective date. Material changes may also be announced through the website, app, or store listing where appropriate.
